Sapphire Glass(CRYSTAL) generally refers to synthetic sapphire, which is very different from natural sapphire, which is commonly understood as jewelry. It is generally used in the manufacture of watch mirror.

It is abrasion-resistant material with tungsten titanium alloy and high-tech ceramics.  Although these materials are resistant to abrasion, they are not able to withstand strong impact, and some materials of equal or higher hardness (e.g., sharpening stones, sandpaper, nail files, granite surfaces, concrete walls and floors, etc.) may scratch the surface of these materials.

Sapphire is the general name of corundum gemstones in other colors except red ruby, and the main component is alumina (Al2O3).  Sapphire glass refers to synthetic sapphires that can be easily and cheaply produced in the laboratory as gem-grade sapphires with the same chemical composition and physical properties as natural sapphires.

Feature & Application

Sapphire Glass, Similar to corundum composition, the hardness is 9, can be added by various chemical elements, produce a variety of colors. And the commonly used ones are colorless. Its advantages are higher than ordinary glass hardness, the price is relatively high, mainly used for the production of high-grade watch mirror.

Sapphire glass/ruby glass has very good thermal characteristics, excellent electrical and dielectric properties, and chemical corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good thermal conductivity, high hardness, infrared penetration, good chemical stability.  Therefore, it is commonly used to replace other optical materials to make optical components, infrared optical Windows, and is widely used in infrared and far infrared military equipment, such as: It is used in night vision infrared and far infrared sight scopes, night vision cameras and other instruments, satellites, instruments and instruments of space technology, as well as Windows of high power lasers, various optical prisms, optical Windows, UV and IR Windows and lenses, observation ports of low temperature experiments, and has been fully applied in high precision instruments and meters for navigation and aerospace.
